April letting features nearly 40 bidding opportunities

While the DBE Contracting Update newsletter often focuses on large, high-profile projects such as the Marquette Interchange or US 41 expansions, DBE contractors should also constantly be aware of the many opportunities afforded in the typical projects that are put out to bid every month throughout the state.

WisDOT's April 8 bid letting includes nearly 40 projects that represent solid opportunities for DBE firms, either as prime or subcontractors. Fourteen of these projects call for a DBE goal of 10% or higher. Furthermore, while many of these higher-goal projects are in the urban southeast region, several others are for work in places like Dane, Marathon, Marquette and Rock counties.

The April 8 bid letting advertisement is available on-line at the new Highway Construction Contract Information (HCCI) site that no longer requires a log-in. The site also features special notices to contractors, listings of additional special provisions (ASP), schedules for future lettings and a host of other contracting information.
