Contracts awarded for I-94 North-South project

Nine contracts have been awarded from the Feb.10, letting for the I-94 North-South Freeway project. The following contractors were the low bidders:

  • 27th Street bridges, Milwaukee County: Zenith Tech
  • Airport Spur westbound bridge, Grange Ave. overpass, College Ave. interchange: Hoffman
  • Traffic mitigation, Rawson Ave.; 13th St and WIS 38; WIS 38: WIS 119: J.A. Pohl
  • College Ave. intersection: Payne and Dolan
  • Traffic signal upgrades and modifications: Habermehl Electric (DBE Prime Contractor)
  • County E frontage roads: Hoffman
  • County C frontage roads: Michels Corp.
  • WIS 158 frontage roads: Michels Corp.

The I-94 North-South Freeway project will be advancing several contracts as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The packages featured in the special April letting include the County G interchange in Racine County and the I-94 mainline from the state line to the Des Plaines River, including the County C interchange.
