I-94 contractor workshop a success

Attending the I-94 North-South Freeway Project's contractor workshop on March 19 in Bristol were approximately 150 contractors and 88 firms. Major themes of the workshop included:

Project overview
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) projects
Materials and structures
Schedule and staging
Special provisions
Owner Controlled Insurance Progam (OCIP) review
Safety standards
DBE expectations

This venue provided an opportunity for contractors to hear more about the project and network with other primes and subcontractors through a meet and greet receiving line. First Choice Pre-Apprenticeship introduced several graduates who are ready, willing and able to work.
