Mandatory pre-bid for US 41 Project draws a crowd

Contractors attended the mandatory prebid for US 41 projectThe first mandatory pre-bid meeting of the 2009-2010 construction season for the US 41 Project was a success. Forty-nine companies came to WisDOT's NE Regional Office in Green Bay to learn more about a project to build storm water retention ponds at County EE and County G. The project, located in Brown County, also includes miscellaneous storm sewer work.

Of those contractors looking to become involved in the project, 11 companies came to bid as primes, and 25 DBE certified firms were looking for work as subcontractors, while the remaining 13 were either in the process of becoming DBE's or came inquiring on who to contact to begin the paperwork. All contracts for the US 41 Project will include mandatory pre-bid meetings aimed at increasing DBE participation.
