AICCW/AICTA train DBEs for safety, productivity and profit The American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin (AICCW) and the American Indian Construction and Trades Association (AICTA) have teamed up to offer a business safety program and OSHA 10-hour training to Native American DBEs. The training will help NADBEs prepare to meet and exceed objectives, goals and responsibilities related to OCIP safety guidance. According to AICCW President Craig Anderson, "As more Native American DBEs enter into WisDOT subcontracts, we are working with AICCW/AICTA members to put safety first, underscoring the WisDOT goal of ZERO accidents and injuries. We are emphasizing the importance of project planning and communications (e.g. pre-construction/tool box meetings) and the inseparable link between project safety, productivity and profit." With more than 40 years of construction industry and safety experience, Hap Pigsley, owner of Hap Pigsley Consulting, LLC, will conduct the training. He states that his mission and core message is that safety is a requirement, not a goal.
