Final Marquette Interchange contracts meet DBE goals

Last month, WisDOT executed what are expected to be the final two construction contracts on the Marquette Interchange project. Both contracts continued the strong track record of DBE hiring for the project as each met the assigned goal and a DBE contractor earned the prime bid for one contract. (more...)

Contractors invited to attend I-94 contractors workshop and MBE conference back-to-back

WisDOT and the Department of Commerce are coordinating efforts to invite contractors to attend two important events to highlight minority business opportunities in Wisconsin. Both events will be held at the Wyndham Milwaukee Airport Hotel, 4747 S Howell Avenue in Milwaukee on October 1-2. (more...)


Save the date — 23rd Annual DBE Workshop and Awards set for December 12

WisDOT will host its 23rd annual DBE Workshop and Secretary's Award banquet on Friday, December 12 at the Country Springs Hotel in Waukesha. The all-day event will feature workshops and seminars on key industry topics and presentation of the Secretary's Golden Shovel Awards to recognize achievements in DBE and civil rights issues in transportation. Watch for more conference information in the next edition of the DBE Contracting Update.


US 41 project continues to meet goals

By the end of September, a $553,000 demolition project in Oshkosh will be complete, marking a successful start for DBE participation in the first significant letting for the US 41 corridor expansion project in Brown and Winnebago counties. (more...)
