Memorials on state highways

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and county highway maintenance employees understand the distress and shock people experience when a loved-one is killed in a traffic crash. We also recognize the need many people have to grieve by placing a memorial within a highway right-of-way near the crash site. WisDOT has produced a brochure that offers guidelines for placing a memorial on a highway right of way.
