New residents
Drivers with a Commercial Driver License (CDL) are required to apply for a Wisconsin driver license within 30 days. Other drivers new to Wisconsin are required to apply for a Wisconsin driver license within 60 days of establishing residency.
How to obtain a driver license:
- Driving in Wisconsin with a foreign driver's license
- Suspended or revoked out-of-state license
- Valid out-of-state license
New Wisconsin residents will also need to apply for a title and license plates for their vehicle.
