U.S. DOT Federal Transit Administration (FTA)
The FTA provides financial assistance for transit planning, operations, and capital programs. They also provide technical assistance in the form of guidance in meeting Federal requirements; training needs; and support of research, development and demonstration of innovative concepts and technology. The site includes information about their programs, full text documents, a database of transit statistics, legal information, and safety information. The "links" section offers links to transit agencies by state, county or city.

Advanced Transit Association (ATRA)
The mission of ATRA is to help communities, agencies, and planners implement transit systems that serve the mobility needs of their citizens in a cost-effective, service-oriented fashion. The site includes information on advanced transit technologies, full text of  publications by members and the ATRA Newsletter, and links to transit related sites. 

American Public Transit Association (APTA)
APTA's mission is to strengthen and expand public transportation advocacy, innovation, and information sharing.  The site offers transit statistics, news, a bulletin board, legislative information, international transit information, full text documents and a catalog of member products and services.

Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA)
CTAA conducts research, provides technical assistance, offers educational programs and serves as an advocate in order to make coordinated community transportation available, affordable and accessible.  This site includes legislative information, news, funding data and opportunities, state by state information about federally funded transportation related programs, a conference speaker network, a bulletin board, a database of scheduling/dispatching software, full text transit and ITS publications from the association and other agencies, and information about training and certification.

Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT)
ACT's mission is to enhance mobility, improve air quality, and conserve energy though Transportation Demand Management activities.  The site gives information on "commuter benefits," transit listservs, and links to other commuter web sites.

High Speed Ground Transportation Association (HSGTA)
HSGTA was organized in 1983 to advocate the integration of high-speed ground transportation service in North America and world-wide as a necessary addition to existing transportation networks. The site has a "Capital Update" section, information about the Association, and a page of industry related links.

Internet Transit Center
This site, sponsored by METRO Magazine, serves as a portal to transit information.  It includes transit news, a calendar of events, industry statistics, legal information, a photo gallery, historical information., ISO 9000 information, and an industry product directory.
