Governor Walker approves $225,000 project at Outagamie County Regional Airport

February 8, 2012

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $225,000 project for the design of a taxiway extension and pavement of the perimeter road at the Outagamie County Regional Airport in Appleton.

Andrew Trimble, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, said the project to extend Taxiway N will increase safety at the airport by eliminating the need for general aviation pilots to cross active runways. The new extension will provide better access from the general aviation hangers to Runway 12/30.

The design project is scheduled to be completed by late spring.

Funding breakdown

  • State = $180,000
  • Outagamie County = $45,000

The Outagamie County Regional Airport has two paved runways with full-length parallel taxiways.  The primary runway is 8,000 feet; the second runway is 6,500 feet.
