Public meeting scheduled for Watertown Plank Road bridges in Milwaukee County
February 10, 2012
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the upcoming rehabilitation of the Watertown Plank Road bridges over the Canadian Pacific Railway. The meeting will be held:
- When: Thursday, February 23 from 5-7 p.m.
- Where: Wauwatosa Public Library “Firefly Room," 7635 West North Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI.
The proposed project involves improvements to the Watertown Plank Road Bridges over the Canadian Pacific Railway, Underwood Creek, and the Oak Leaf Trail. The existing bridge decks will be replaced with new, slightly wider decks. Minimal work will be done to the approaching roadway. The bridges are planned to be constructed one at a time. Temporary traffic crossovers are proposed to maintain two-way traffic on the opposite bridge throughout construction, which is currently scheduled for 2017.
Your attendance at this meeting is encouraged. Representatives from the WisDOT project team will be available to answer questions and receive input. If you cannot attend the meeting, but would like to find out more, please contact Christine Rawson, WisDOT project manager, at (262) 548-6428 or christine.rawson@dot.wi.gov.
The Wauwatosa Public Library is wheelchair accessible. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Christine Rawson at least three working days prior to the meeting.
