February 17, 2012
Meeting to focus on roadway and safety improvements
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region is announcing a second public information meeting to discuss the resurfacing and improvements on Washington Avenue (WIS 20) from Wisconsin Street/Fancher Road (County H North) to 90th Street in Racine County. The meeting is scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on February 29 at the Mount Pleasant Village Hall, 8811 Campus Drive, Community Room 1 (B109).
The purpose of the project is to improve safety at the intersections at County H and 90th Street, including new traffic signals, pedestrian crosswalks, removing unused driveways along Washington Avenue, and potentially, an advance warning signal west of the Canadian Pacific Railway overpass. Construction is currently planned for 2014.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
