Public meeting set for WIS 158 expansion in Kenosha County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the expansion of WIS 158 from 104th Avenue to WIS 31 in Kenosha County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 7 at the Bank of Kenosha, 5117 Green Bay Road, Kenosha, WI.

The proposed improvements include expanding 104th Avenue to Union Pacific Railroad to four lanes with a rural shoulder, and expanding Union Pacific Railroad to 58th Avenue to four lanes with an urban sidewalk. Roundabouts will be built at the County H intersection and 68th Avenue intersection. Other improvements include on-road bicycle accommodations, pedestrian accommodations, bridge widening over railroads, and storm water detention ponds and drainage ditches. Construction is currently scheduled for 2018/2019.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
