Construction kick-off meeting for WIS 60 project in Washington County scheduled
February 24, 2012
Crews are preparing to roll out the orange barrels on a $14.8 million project on WIS 60 between US 41 and US 45 in Washington County starting in mid-March, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).
The public is invited to a construction kick-off meeting on Thursday, March 8, between 4 and 6 p.m. at Polk Town Hall, 3680 WIS 60 in Slinger, WI. The meeting will be an open house format. Members from the project team will share the project schedule, traffic impacts and answer questions prior to construction beginning.
The 3.24-mile project will reconstruct and expand WIS 60 starting in mid March. The project will address the poor pavement poor condition and improve safety at intersections. WisDOT will expand WIS 60 to a four-lane divided roadway with raised median, roundabouts, and updated intersections to accommodate future traffic in the corridor. Roundabouts will be constructed at the following locations:
- WIS 60 and US 45 off-/on-ramps
- WIS 60 and Tillie Lake Road/Cedar Creek Parkway
- WIS 60 and County C
- County C and American Eagle Drive
US 41 to County C will be open to traffic and constructed in stages. County C to Tillie Lake Road will be closed to through traffic and detoured. Tillie Lake Road to County P will be open to traffic and constructed in stages.
The contractor, Zignego Companies, is expected to complete work by November 2012, weather permitting.
