Improvements on I-94 to begin in Eau Claire County

A $34 million contract to improve I-94 between Mallard Road and County NN in Eau Claire County is scheduled to begin Monday, March 5.

The project will include a variety of work, including grading, new pavement, new structures and beamguard work.

Beginning March 5, westbound traffic will be down to one lane. On March 12 or 19, depending on the weather, traffic will be switched to one lane in each direction on the westbound lanes of I-94.

Traffic would remain in this configuration until May 25. Mallard Road will be closed to traffic beginning March 12 until May 25. The project has a completion date of November 9, 2013.
