Bridge replacements on I-94 to begin soon in Eau Claire County

March 2, 2012

A $9.65 million contract to replace I-94 bridges over County E and C in Eau Claire is scheduled to begin Monday, March 5.

The multi-stage project will begin with the replacement of the westbound County E and C bridges, as well as pavement replacement in the work zone.

The passing lane in both directions of I-94 will close March 5 and, weather permitting; traffic will be switched to one lane in each direction on the eastbound lanes of I-94 Thursday, March 8.

Traffic would remain in this configuration until June 15; it would then be switched to bi-directional traffic on the westbound lanes of I-94 with two lanes in each direction. During this time, eastbound County E and C bridges and concrete pavement in the work zone will be replaced.

The project has a completion date of November 14, 2012.
