Public meeting scheduled for US 12 in Jackson County

Meeting to focus on final plans and construction process

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Eau Claire is announcing a public information meeting to discuss final plans for the US 12 reconstruction from the north junction of Old Highway 12 Road to Merrill Street in the village of Merrillan. The meeting will be held from 5 – 6:30 p.m., with a brief presentation at 5:15 p.m., on Thursday, March 15 at Merrillan Village Hall, 101 South Main Street.

The purpose of the project is to replace the deteriorating pavement, improve drainage issues, and provide curb and gutter and sidewalks to the village of Merrillan. Construction is currently scheduled for 2013.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed plans will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
