Governor Walker approves $2.2 million project at Dane County Regional Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $2.2 million project for the reconstruction and relocation of the Grimm Street and Anderson Street intersection at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison.

David Montesinos, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will improve traffic safety for fuel tank trucks serving the airport.

Construction is expected to begin this spring and be complete by fall of 2012.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $1,120,000
  • Dane County = $1,080,000

Dane County Regional Airport is Wisconsin’s second largest airport. It is served by five commercial air carriers, with more than 100 daily departures and arrivals.
