Governor Walker approves $111,000 project at Austin Straubel International Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $111,000 project for design work to reconstruct portions of the air carrier and commercial service apron at Austin Straubel International Airport in Brown County.
Matt Malicki, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, said the project is needed to replace aging sections of pavement on the commercial service apron. An apron is the area where aircraft are parked, unloaded or loaded, refueled and boarded.
The design project is expected to be completed by April 2012.

Austin Straubel International Airport is located southwest of the city of Green Bay. It is a primary service air carrier airport, with two concrete runways, 7,700 feet and 8,200 feet in length. The airport has a modern terminal building providing passenger services to the traveling public.
