WIS 44 improvements in Green Lake County scheduled this summer

March 13, 2012

Once construction begins, WIS 44 traffic will be detoured via WIS 33 and WIS 73

Pavement replacement on 3.7 miles of WIS 44 – between the Columbia County line and the north intersection with Green Lake County H in the town of Kingston – has been rescheduled and will begin this summer.

Work is scheduled to begin in June 2012 and is expected to be completed in October 2012.

Once work begins crews plan to close the highway to through traffic. Motorists will be detoured via WIS 33 and WIS 73. Access to adjacent residences and businesses will be maintained throughout construction operations.

The pavement replacement project was previously scheduled for construction in 2013. Improvements include new curb and gutter, and new storm sewer in Dalton. The intersections throughout the project will be widened with curb and gutter.
