Governor approves WIS 65 improvements

March 15, 2012

As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently signed a $7,269,018.09 contract to improve four intersections and resurface a portion of WIS 65 in St. Croix County. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2012.

Chippewa Concrete Services Inc. of Chippewa Falls is the prime contractor of the project. Four roundabouts will be constructed at the intersections of WIS 65 and County G, County TT, 120th Street, and 130th Street. Resurfacing will occur on WIS 65 and US 12, from 70th Street to the US 12 East/WIS 65 intersection, between River Falls and Roberts.

Construction is scheduled for completion by October 2012, according to Dave Solberg, project manager for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

During the roundabout construction, local detours will allow access to WIS 65 and US 12. Resurfacing will have minimal traffic impact.
