Crews set to begin rehabilitation on I-43 bridges in Ozaukee County

March 16, 2012

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing that work will begin early next week on multiple bridges along I-43 from WIS 32 to the north county line in Ozaukee County.

Bridge rehabilitation will include new decks and deck overlays for the following bridges:

  • I-43 over WIS 33
  • I-43 southbound over WIS 57 northbound
  • I-43 over the Union Pacific Railroad
  • I-43 over Highland Avenue
  • I-43 northbound over Jay Road

Construction will be handled in two stages, allowing two lanes of traffic in each direction south of WIS 57, and one lane of traffic in each direction north of WIS 57.

The project will provide a smother and safer driver experience on I-43.

The contractor, Zenith Tech, plans to finish the $8.6 million project this fall.
