Project set to begin on I-43 in Walworth and Waukesha counties
March 20, 2012
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing that work will begin next week on the 16-mile improvement project on I-43, from US 12 to WIS 83 in Walworth and Waukesha counties.
The project will improve the roadway by milling, rubblizing, base patching, paving, pavement marking and signage.
Construction will be staged to keep most lanes open during peak drive times. Lanes may be restricted during off-peak weekday hours, but all lanes will be open to traffic on weekends. Short-term closures for ramp work will occur, with detours posted in advance.
The contractors, BR Amon & Sons and Rock Road Companies, plan to finish the $13 million project late this summer.
