Public meeting scheduled for road improvements in Black River Falls

March 27, 2012

Meeting to focus on plans and construction process

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Regional Office in Eau Claire is announcing a public information meeting to discuss plans for improvements to US 12 and WIS 54 in the city of Black River Falls. The meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Black River Falls City Hall.

The proposed 2013 project calls for resurfacing US 12 and WIS 54, converting a portion of WIS 54 from 11 Street to 5 Street to three lanes with a two-way left turn lane as the middle lane and a bridge deck overlay on the Black River bridge.

During construction, traffic will typically be maintained to allow one lane in each direction, but a short term detour on WIS 54 westbound will be needed for about three weeks.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed plans will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact Chad Hines  at (715) 836-7276. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Chad Hines at 718 West Clairemont Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701.
