Public meeting for WIS 80 in Grant County

Public invited to attend meeting about upcoming 2012 construction

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region will hold a public information meeting to discuss two upcoming construction projects on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. The first project is on WIS 80 (Water Street) between WIS 81 (Pine Street) and Malone Drive in the City of Platteville. The second project is on WIS 80 between Malone Drive in Platteville and East Tama Drive in Livingston. Construction is expected to start by the end of April and continue through 2012.

The meeting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the City of Platteville Council Chambers (75 North Bonson Street, Platteville). The gathering will be organized in an open house format, with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m.

Improvements include complete reconstruction of WIS 80 from Pine Street to Walnut Dell Road and resurfacing the highway from Walnut Dell Road to East Tama Drive.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and ask questions concerning these projects. Maps and construction plans showing the improvements will be available to view. Representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

Persons who are unable to attend on April 4 can contribute comments about the WIS 80 project by contacting WisDOT Project Manager Timothy Maedke, WisDOT Southwest Region office, 3550 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse, WI  54601.

The City of Platteville Council Chamber is wheelchair accessible. Persons who require the assistance of a sign language interpreter may contact Kimberly Johnson at Kjohnson Engineers, Inc., (608) 829-3858, through the Wisconsin Telecommunication Relay System (dial 711) no later than three working days prior to the meeting.
