WIS 144 improvement project to start up again in Washington County

April 10, 2012

Work on the $9.7 million improvement project on WIS 144 in Washington County is set to begin later this week, announced the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).

The project began last July on 8.4 miles of WIS 144 from West Bend to the north county line. Work involves replacing pavement, extending and replacing culverts, improving intersections and beam guard. "Crews will place the final pavement surface, permanent pavement markings, final grading, and miscellaneous clean up items," said Jason Dahlgren, WisDOT project manager.

WIS 144 will be open to through traffic, using staged construction and flagging operations when necessary.

The contractor, Super Western Inc., is scheduled to complete the project by June 2012, weather permitting.
