Construction announced for a new roundabout in Calumet County
April 13, 2012
Work at the WIS 55/WIS 114 intersection scheduled to start in mid-June
(Green Bay) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is announcing the installation of a single lane roundabout at the WIS 55/WIS 114 intersection in Calumet County is tentatively scheduled to start in mid-June. A public information meeting will be held approximately two weeks prior to the start of the project.
The general contractor for the project is MCC inc., Appleton.
WisDOT had announced in January the roundabout construction would begin sometime in April, but the later date was needed to finish preparations to begin work on the approximately $2 million project. Roundabouts have been shown to improve safety while moving traffic more efficiently.
During construction the intersection will be completely closed to traffic. The detour is WIS 114, US 10, WIS 57 and WIS 114.
WisDOT will announce the final construction start date when it is available.
