Governor Walker approves $174,000 project at East Troy Municipal Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $174,000 project to purchase snow removal equipment for the East Troy Municipal Airport in Walworth County.

Eric Johnson, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the equipment includes a bi-directional tractor, loader, box plow, snow blower, rotary broom and plow blade, to help provide more effective and efficient snow removal operations at the airport.

The equipment is scheduled to be delivered in early fall of 2012, prior to the start of Wisconsin’s winter weather season.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $4,350
  • Village of East Troy = $4,350
  • Federal Aviation Administration = $165,300

The East Troy Municipal Airport has a 3,900 foot paved runway and a 2,400 foot turf runway.
