Governor Walker approves nearly $316,000 project at Middleton Municipal – Morey Field Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $315,790 project to install fencing and address soil erosion concerns at the Middleton Municipal – Morey Field Airport.
Eric Johnson, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the chain link fence and gates will provide added security to the aviation fueling terminal on the east side of the airport. In addition, the project includes funding to stabilize the banks of Pheasant Branch Creek to prevent erosion along airport property.
The project is expected to begin in May and be completed by August 2012.
Funding Breakdown
- State = $7,895
- City of Middleton = $7,895
- Federal Aviation Administration = $300,000
The Middleton Municipal – Morey Field Airport has a 4,000 foot paved runway and a 2,000 foot turf runway.
