Work to begin on US 2/WIS 13 roundabout

April 20, 2012

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation in Superior announces that work will begin on the US 2/WIS 13 intersection improvement project on Monday, April 23.

The $2.1 million project will involve the construction of a single-lane modern roundabout with single lane approaches and exits.

The highway will be open to traffic at all times. However, all US 2 traffic will be shifted onto the existing eastbound roadway so US 2 will be running two way traffic with no median. Temporary traffic signals will be installed and become active in mid-May and will run until sometime in early September. Also, the speed limit will be reduced on US 2 from 55 mph to 45 mph.

The project has a completion date of mid-late September 2012.
