Governor Walker approves more than $1 million project at Rice Lake Regional Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $1,020,000 project for the construction of a general aviation ramp, expansion of the corporate ramp and better lighting at the Rice Lake Regional Airport.
David Montesinos, airport project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will increase safety for aircraft movements and provide construction areas for new corporate and private hangers.
Design work is set to begin this spring and is expected to be complete in the fall of 2012.
Funding Breakdown
- State = $25,500
- City of Rice Lake = $25,500
- Federal Aviation Administration = $969,000
Rice Lake Regional Airport has two paved runways. The primary runway is 6,700 feet, while the secondary runway is 3,500 feet.
