Governor Walker approves $1 million project at Prairie du Chien Municipal Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $1,075,000 project for pavement improvements at the Prairie du Chien Municipal Airport in Crawford County.
Michael Gabor, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will improve pavement conditions on the airport’s secondary runway and widen a taxiway to better accommodate business aircraft.
Work is scheduled to begin in May and be complete by the end of this summer.
Funding Breakdown
- State = $26,875
- City of Prairie du Chien = $26,875
- Federal Aviation Administration = $1,021,250
Prairie du Chien Municipal Airport has two paved runways. The primary runway is 5,000 feet, while the secondary runway is 4,000 feet.
