Central Wisconsin bridge inspections scheduled

Motorists can expect lane closures and flagging operations

Motorists can expect to encounter lane closures on several bridges while crews perform routine inspections and maintenance operations. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 7.

Green Lake County

  • WIS 49 in Berlin. The WIS 49 bridge over the Fox River will have single lane closures on Monday, May 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists may encounter flagging operations.
  • WIS 44 in Kingston. The WIS 44 bridge over the Grand River will have a single lane closure on Monday, May 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. Motorists will encounter flagging operations.

Marathon County

  • WIS 29 in Rothschild. The WIS 29 westbound bridge over Business 51 will have single lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. beginning Monday, May 7. Work is scheduled for completion before the end of the day Thursday, May 10.
  • I-39/US 51 south of WIS 153 (Mosinee). Shoulder closures on northbound and southbound for inspections of the Marathon County C overpass and the Locker Road overpass. Work is scheduled for Thursday, May 10 from noon to 4 p.m.

Portage County

  • Portage County HH in Stevens Point. The County HH bridge over the Wisconsin River will have single lane closures on Thursday, May 10 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Waupaca County

  • US 10 in Fremont. The US 10 eastbound and westbound bridges over the Wolf River will have single lane closures on Tuesday, May 8 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • WIS 110 in Fremont. The WIS 110 bridge over the Wolf River will have single lane closures on Tuesday, May 8 from 1 to 4 p.m.
  • WIS 156 east of Clintonville. The WIS 156 bridges over the Wolf River and Embarrass River will have single lane closures on Wednesday, May 9 from 8 to 11 a.m. Motorists will encounter flagging operations.
  • WIS 22 in Clintonville. The WIS 22 bridge over Pigeon River will have a single lane closure on Wednesday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists will encounter flagging operations.
  • WIS 54 in Royalton. The WIS 54 bridge over the Little Wolf River will have a single lane closure on Wednesday, May 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. Motorists will encounter flagging operations.

Waushara County

  • Waushara County XX north of Berlin. The County XX bridge over the Fox River will have a single lane closure on Monday, May 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. Motorists will encounter flagging operations.

Motorists should be alert for slow moving vehicles and potential traffic backups near the work zones. To avoid any delays motorists may want to use alternate routes. The work is subject to change based on weather conditions.
