I-39 ramp closures in Stevens Point scheduled tonight, tomorrow night

May 7, 2012

As part of the surface improvements to I-39 between WIS 54 (Plover) and 2nd Street North (Stevens Point) crews plan to close the I-39 northbound off ramp to WIS 66 west and the US 10 on ramp to northbound I-39 on the following days:

  • 7 p.m. Monday, May 7 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 8
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 9
  • When the ramps are closed, traffic will be detoured to the WIS 66 east interchange or the Portage County HH interchange.

I-39 will remain open to traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter delays, especially during peak travel times, due to single lane closures. To avoid delays motorists may want allow extra travel time or take a different route.

The freeway will be open to two lanes in each direction on weekends.

Construction is currently scheduled for completion in late June 2012. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and construction status.
