Governor Walker approves $1.46 million project at Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $1,460,000 project to expand the terminal building at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Rock County.
Wendy Hottenstein, airport program manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will demolish the west side of the current terminal building and construct a new addition in its place. The addition will provide space to allow for future development of airport administration offices, conference rooms, a pilot lounge and restroom facilities.
The project is scheduled to begin in May and be completed by December 2012.
Funding Breakdown
- State = $1,168,000
- Rock County = $292,000
Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport is located three miles southwest of Janesville. It has three paved runways.
