Governor Walker approves $1.75 million project at Central Wisconsin Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $1,750,000 project to build two new parking lots at the Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee.

Eric Johnson, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will create an additional 670 parking spaces at the airport.

Construction is scheduled to begin in May and be finished by October.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $1,400,000
  • Marathon and Portage counties = $350,000

Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) has two paved runways. The primary runway is 7,650 feet, while the second runway is 6,300 feet.
