Meeting scheduled for WIS 42 construction in Door County

Work taking place in Sister Bay starting in 2014

(Green Bay) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting has been scheduled to discuss the proposed reconstruction of WIS 42 project from Country Walk Drive to Scandia Road in the village of Sister Bay, Door County. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at the Sister Bay Fire Station, 2258 Mill Road, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A short presentation is scheduled for 5:40 p.m.

Construction is scheduled from September 2014 to June 2015. The village of Sister Bay plans to do a separate project to replace sanitary sewer and water main prior to this project, tentatively in 2013.

The project includes:

  • Widening of the roadway to incorporate shared bicycle/parking lanes
  • Replacement of storm sewer
  • Addition of curb and gutter and sidewalk between County Walk Drive and Bluffside Lane
  • Realignment of the WIS 57 intersection

WisDOT staff will be available to discuss the project in an open-house format to obtain your input. Persons with knowledge about historic buildings and structures, archaeological sites, septic systems, drain tiles, or drainage problems near the project should plan to attend and discuss them with project staff.

The fire station is wheelchair accessible. Those who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter should contact WisDOT Project Manager Jeremy Ashauer prior to May 17.
