Project update: I-94 bridgework expected to be complete Thursday May 31

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will begin needed repainting of bridges on I-94 in and around the Stadium Interchange. The lane closures will begin late on Sunday and will be in place until noon on Friday, May 25. The project will restart on Monday night until the painting project is finished.
The project will restart late on Monday, May 29 and run until Thursday, May 31. There will be lane closures impacting different lanes over the course of the project.
Current plans for repainting work:
- Sunday, May 20 – Westbound lane closures go into place.
- Monday, May 21 – Work begins cleaning and prepping bridges.
- Tuesday, May 22 – Full closure of I-94 eastbound ramp to US 41 northbound.
- Wednesday, May 23 – Full closure US 41 southbound ramp to I-94 eastbound.
- Thursday, May 24 – Reopen I-94 eastbound ramp to US 41 northbound.
- Friday, May 25 – Reopen US 41 southbound ramp to I-94 eastbound.
- Friday, May 25, noon – Pull back barrels end work until late Monday.
- Monday, May 29 – Westbound closures back in place.
- Thursday, May 31 – Repainting work ends, all lanes and ramps open.
This work is subject to adverse weather conditions. WisDOT employees are available for comment on this project.
