Governor Walker approves Big Roche-A-Cri bridge replacement in Adams County
May 30, 2012
WIS 13 detoured during construction
As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently signed a $1.4 million contract to improve the Big Roche-A-Cri Lake bridge, located on WIS 13 in Adams County.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, June 18, 2012.
Pheifer Brothers Construction Company Inc. is the prime contractor for the project. Work includes replacing the Big Roche-A-Cri Lake bridge and replacing the asphalt pavement of the adjacent boat landing and the road to the landing. Crews will also pave Adams County C between WIS 13 and 7th Avenue prior to beginning work on WIS 13.
Construction is scheduled for completion by mid-August 2012.
During construction, WIS 13 will be closed at the bridge and traffic will be detoured via WIS 21, Adams County G and County C. The detour is currently scheduled to begin June 26.
The Big Roche-A-Cri Lake will remain open to boat traffic throughout the majority of construction. Some work may require that the channel under the bridge be closed for short durations. Boaters are advised to use caution near the work zone.
Some closures of the boat landing will be necessary for paving operations.
The project will be paid with a combination of federal transportation funds, state transportation funds, and local funds.
