May 31, 2012

Interchange work in Green Bay set to begin Thursday, June 7

(Green Bay) As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently signed a $1.5 million contract to improve the I-43/Mason Street interchange in Green Bay. Construction is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 7.

The contractor for the project is Vinton Construction, Manitowoc, WI.

Work includes repairing and repaving the ramps, adding turn lanes, roadway repairs within the interchange, upgrading traffic signals and adding ramp gates.

Traffic will be impacted by ramp closures during the evening and nighttime, and both day and nighttime lane closures on Mason Street. Message board and media announcements will precede the closures. Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
