Governor Walker approves $65,000 project at Tri-County Regional Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $65,000 project to improve pavements at the Tri-County Regional Airport in Lone Rock.
Michael Gabor, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project involves the crack filling and seal coating of the airport’s pavements. This routine maintenance by the Bureau of Aeronautics extends the life of existing pavements to avoid costly reconstruction.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of summer.
Funding Breakdown
- State = $1,625
- Tri-County Regional Airport = $1,625
- Federal Aviation Administration = $61,750
Tri-County Regional Airport is owned by Iowa, Richland and Sauk counties. It has two paved runways. The primary runway is 5,000 feet, while the secondary runway is 1,988 feet.
