WisDOT schedules WIS 73 public information meeting

June 7, 2012

Resurfacing project from Neshkoro to WIS 21 scheduled for 2014

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to WIS 73, from the White River Bridge in the village of Neshkoro, Marquette County, to the WIS 21/73 intersection (east of Wautoma) in Waushara County.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 20, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Neshkoro Elementary School, which is located on WIS 73 between Park and Bluff Streets, in Neshkoro. The building entrance is located on east side of the building. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format. Local officials, property owners and other interested parties are encouraged to attend. WisDOT officials will be available to answer questions.

Improvements include:

  • New pavement surface for the roadway and intersections
  • New storm sewer in Neshkoro from the White River Bridge to Bluff Street
  • Ditch grading in selected rural areas to flatten steep ditch slopes
  • Widening the paved shoulders to 5 feet from Bluff Street to the Neshkoro Park and from County F to WIS 21

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in 2014, but may be advanced to 2013.

During construction WIS 73 will remain open to traffic. Motorists may encounter daytime lane closures and flagging operations.

Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at (715) 421-8380 at least three working days prior to the meeting.
