Northbound I-39/US 51 freeway closures, detour scheduled next week
June 8, 2012
Southbound rolling closures on Monday
Crews plan to close northbound I-39/US 51 between WIS 153 and the Kowalski Road overpass from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, June 11, Tuesday, June 12, and Wednesday, June 13.
The closures are necessary for crews to set bridge girders for the new Maple Ridge Road interchange. When the northbound lanes are closed, traffic will be detoured via the Business 51 interchange (Exit 186), Old Highway 51 and Maple Ridge Road.
Motorists are reminded to drive with caution near the work zone and along the detour route.
On Monday, June 11, at approximately 10:30 p.m., crews are planning a rolling closure on southbound I-39/US 51. During a rolling closure motorists will encounter speed reductions to approximately 20 mph and brief closures (about 5 minutes) of the freeway. The rolling closure is necessary so crews can remove a telephone line at two locations located along I-39/US 51.
To avoid potential delays, motorists may want to use alternate routes.
The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
