US 14/Starlight Drive safety project to be discussed at information meeting

June 15, 2012

The planned reconstruction of the US 14/Starlight Drive intersection, located on the eastern edge of the city of Richland Center, will be discussed at a public information meeting on June 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Richland Center Community Center, 1050 N. Orange Street, Richland Center.

The purpose of the project is to address the high crash rate and improve safety at the US 14/Starlight Drive intersection. WisDOT will present multiple alternates as possible solutions for improving intersection safety at this location.

WisDOT is proposing to keep US 14 open to through traffic during construction operations utilizing staged construction. Construction is currently scheduled for 2015.

The meeting will be conducted in an open house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Jewell Associates Engineers will be on hand to answer questions throughout the evening. Attendees will have the option of making written or verbal comments during the gathering.

Persons who are unable to attend on June 27 can contribute comments about the project by contacting Jewell Associates Engineers, Inc. at 560 Sunrise Drive, Spring Green, WI 53588, Attn: Fred Gruber, P.E., R.L.S.; phone (608) 588-7484; email fred.gruber@jewellassoc.com.

The Richland Center Community Center is wheelchair accessible. Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter for the meeting should contact Robert Winterton at least three days prior to the meeting.
