Governor Walker approves $222,685 project at East Troy Municipal Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $222,685 design project for the reconstruction of the primary runway at the East Troy Municipal Airport in Walworth County.
Andrew Trimble, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the runway’s pavement needs to be replaced due to deteriorating conditions. Repairs are no longer effective or cost efficient.
The design project is expected to be complete by early summer.
Funding Breakdown
- State = $5,567
- Village of East Troy = $5,568
- Federal Aviation Administration = $211,550
In addition to the 3,900 foot paved primary runway, the East Troy Municipal Airport has a 2,400 foot turf runway.
