Governor Walker approves more than $284,000 project at Hartford Municipal Airport

June 18, 2012

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $284,290 project to reconstruct pavements at the Hartford Municipal Airport in Washington County.

Matt Malicki, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project includes the reconstruction of four hangar taxiways and the construction of a vehicle access road on the airport’s north side. The road will provide a direct route to the hangar area, eliminating the need for vehicles to drive on taxiways.

The project is scheduled to be completed by August 2012.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $8,632
  • City of Hartford = $8,633
  • Federal Aviation Administration = $267,025

Hartford Municipal Airport has two runways. The paved primary runway is 3,001 feet; its turf landing strip is 2,250 feet.
