Governor Walker approves more than $1 million project at Crandon/Steve Conway Municipal Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $1,095,738 pavement reconstruction and expansion project at the Crandon/Steve Conway Municipal Airport in Forest County.
Matt Malicki, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will include the reconstruction of the airport’s primary runway and two taxiways, along with the reconstruction and expansion of its terminal ramp. A new hangar area, including a new hangar taxiway, will also be developed.
Construction is expected to begin in July and should be completed by September 2012. The airport will be closed during construction.

- Federal Aviation Administration = $987,796
Crandon/Steve Conway Municipal Airport has two runways. The primary paved runway is 3,100 feet, while the secondary turf runway is 2,730 feet.
