Governor Walker approves nearly $296,000 project at West Bend Municipal Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $295,734 project to purchase additional land for the West Bend Municipal Airport in Washington County.
Craig Butler, airport project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will protect runways and provide an area for future airport improvements.
The land acquisition is expected to be completed in fall 2012.
Funding Breakdown
- State = $7,393
- City of West Bend = $7,393
- Federal Aviation Administration = $280,948
West Bend Municipal Airport has two paved runways. The primary runway is 4,500 feet, while the secondary runway is 3,900 feet.
