Governor Walker approves improvements for Little Chute
June 29, 2012
New sanitary sewers being installed in preparation for next year’s construction
(Green Bay) As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently signed an $817,000 contract to install sanitary sewers on Buchanan Street and Sanitorium Road in the village of Little Chute, Outagamie County. The work begins July 2 and will be completed by August 24.
The general contractor is DeGroot Incorporated, Green Bay.
Buchanan Street will be closed Monday, July 2 from Main Street (WIS 96) to Polk Street. Sanitorium Street is tentatively scheduled to close Monday, July 16 from Main Street (WIS 96) to Lincoln Avenue. While the roads are being closed to through traffic, local access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
This work is being done prior to the reconstruction of Main Street (WIS 96) in Little Chute, scheduled for 2013. Installing storm sewers now will allow these streets to be used as alternative routes when Main Street is closed.
Next year, WisDOT will be reconstructing WIS 96 in the village along Main Street from Jackson Street to the east corporate limits.
