Claude Allouez roundabout upgrade website available

July 2, 2012

Changes coming to the De Pere roundabout in August

(Green Bay) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a website showing the new roundabout lane modifications planned for the eastern end of the Claude Allouez Bridge in De Pere.

Beginning in August, the roundabout will be reconfigured with new lane markings and signs to further improve mobility through the roundabout, easing traffic flow. Drivers need to be aware that their lane choices will be changing.

WisDOT staff is also available to present the upcoming changes to the Claude Allouez roundabout to groups and organizations.

The Claude Allouez bridge roundabout was the first multi-lane roundabout in northeast Wisconsin, providing safety and mobility at this new intersection. With the new configuration, WisDOT anticipates the number of minor crashes also should decline.

Groups interested in having a WisDOT staff member speak at their event or meeting concerning the future Claude Allouez roundabout configuration should contact Kim A. Rudat at (920) 492-5743 or email kim.rudat@dot.wi.gov.
